Participation
Participation in the symposium is free of charge, but prior registration is required.
Please do not make any travel or accommodation arrangements, or incur any related costs, before receiving official confirmation of your participation.
The event will be web-streamed for those interested in following the discussions remotely. Please consult the conference website on 28 October. No registration is required for the web streaming.
The conference language is English.
Event venue
The symposium will take place at:

The venue is accessible to persons with reduced mobility, including through wheelchair-accessible entrances.

Safety and security
The safety and security of all participants is our utmost priority.
In view of the current situation in the region, we are closely monitoring developments and will continuously assess any potential impact on the event and your travel. Should the security situation deteriorate significantly or present a risk to participants, we will inform you without delay and provide appropriate guidance.
For the event itself, we will put appropriate local security measures and arrangements in place to ensure your safe and smooth participation throughout the day.
The SESAME campus is a secure facility. It is entirely enclosed by perimeter fencing and monitored 24/7 by comprehensive CCTV security camera networks. Access to the site is controlled through a main security gate manned around the clock by trained security guards. All visitors are required to undergo the applicable security checks before entering the premises.
To access the venue, you must carry a valid photo ID or passport corresponding to the document provided during registration. Your official event badge must be worn visibly at all times while on the premises.
Travel advisory
Any bookings, fees and cancellations are the sole responsibility of the participants.
Given the current situation in the region, we recommend that you make your travel and accommodation arrangements with flexible cancellation and/or amendment conditions, where possible. Please ensure that you have checked and, where required, completed the relevant visa formalities before travelling to Jordan. Please refer to the Visa section below.
Accommodation
A preferential rate at the price of 130 JOD/night (approximately 158 EUR/night) will be available to participants at Fairmont Hotel Amman.
When sending official confirmation of your participation, we will inform you how to benefit from this rate.
A free shuttle service will be provided for participants from Fairmont Hotel Amman to SESAME and back (see section “Transfers to the event venue”).

The following hotels are also suggested as accommodation options in Amman or close to SESAME. Please note that these hotels do not offer the preferential rate or free shuttle service to/from the event venue:
Airport Transfers
No airport transfers will be provided.
Via Queen Alia International Airport (AMM):
Hotel transfer:
We recommend that you pre-book an airport transfer with your hotel for both your arrival and departure. Please check the applicable rate directly with your hotel.
Official Airport Taxi:
Taxis operate 24/7 from the designated ranks outside the Arrivals Hall. They operate with fixed prices regulated by the Ministry of Transport. The standard daytime fare to Amman city centre is approximately 22.50 JOD (approximately EUR 27), and the journey generally takes 30–45 minutes.
Transportation App:
Careem and Uber are available in Amman. You can use the airport's free Wi-Fi to book a ride. Please ensure that you meet your driver at the designated pick-up area for ride-hailing services rather than at the standard taxi area.
Bus lines:
The Sariyah Airport Express provides transportation between Queen Alia International Airport and Amman North Station.
Tickets can be purchased at the airport, at North Station or directly from the bus driver. The ticket price is approximately 3.40 JOD (approximately EUR 4).
Via Amman City Airport / Marka Civil Airport (ADJ):

We recommend that you pre-book an airport transfer with your hotel for both your arrival and departure. Please check the applicable rate directly with your hotel.
Transportation App:
Careem and Uber are available in Amman. You can use the airport's free Wi-Fi to book a ride.
Taxi:
There is no official airport taxi service at ADJ. Taxis are nevertheless generally available outside the terminal, but it might not be the most seamless transportation to the city if not handling local currency.
The journey to Amman city centre takes approximately 10–15 minutes, with an estimated cost of 4 JOD (approximately EUR 5).
Transfers to the event venue
Shuttles:
Free shuttle services will be provided for all participants between Fairmont Hotel Amman and SESAME.
- Amman → SESAME: departure from Fairmont Hotel Amman at 07:15 [tbc]. Please arrive 15 minutes before departure, as the buses will leave on time.
- SESAME → Amman: return shuttle to Fairmont Hotel Amman at 22:00 [tbc].
No reservation is required.
Please note that no transfers will be provided between other hotel locations and Fairmont Hotel Amman / SESAME.

Private car:
Free parking is available at Princess Rahma University College, next to SESAME.
If you are travelling with a driver, we recommend being dropped off directly at the SESAME entrance before the vehicle proceeds to the designated parking area.
Taxi/Transportation-App:
Taxis, Careem and Uber are available from Amman. The journey from Amman to SESAME takes approximately 45–60 minutes, with an estimated cost of 20 JOD (approximately EUR 24) for a one-way trip.
As taxi and transportation app services may be difficult to arrange from SESAME, we strongly recommend that you pre-arrange your return journey from SESAME to Amman, in case you are not joining the free shuttle service.
Hotel Private Transfer:
You may also arrange a private transfer directly with your hotel. Please check the applicable rate with your hotel.
Visa

Many nationalities are eligible to obtain an E-Visa online before travelling, which is the easiest and most efficient option.
If your nationality requires a pre-arranged visa entry approval before travelling to Jordan, SESAME will provide you with official administrative support to submit the visa application.
Please note that visa support requests will only be processed once your participation has been officially confirmed.
